Two Popular Apps Pocket and Glitch Are Shutting Down on July 8

July 5, 2025 – Two popular apps, Pocket and Glitch, will shut down permanently on Monday, July 8, 2025. Both apps have millions of users around the world.
If you’re a paying subscriber to either app, you might be eligible for a refund.
Pocket App Closing – What You Need to Know
Pocket, the popular “read-it-later” app, was removed from app stores in late May. Users can still access the app for now, but it will officially shut down on July 8.
Pocket Premium cost $4.99 per month or $44.99 per year.
Mozilla, which owns Pocket, says refunds will be given to users with active annual subscriptions.
You don’t need to request a refund. It will be automatically sent to your payment method after July 8.
Users will have until October 8, 2025, to download their saved articles and data.
After that date, all data will be permanently deleted.
Glitch App Also Shutting Down
Glitch, a web development platform, is also closing on the same day – July 8.
Glitch Pro subscribers who paid $96 annually will be refunded for any unused time.
Like Pocket, refunds will be automatic.
Glitch users have until December 31, 2025, to download their projects.
After that, all files and data will be deleted permanently.
Important Deadlines
July 8, 2025 – Both apps shut down officially.
October 8, 2025 – Pocket users must download saved content before this date.
December 31, 2025 – Glitch users must save their projects by this deadline.
