Two Popular Apps Pocket and Glitch Are Shutting Down on July 8

July 5, 2025 – Two popular apps, Pocket and Glitch, will shut down permanently on Monday, July 8, 2025. Both apps have millions of users around the world.

If you’re a paying subscriber to either app, you might be eligible for a refund.

Pocket App Closing – What You Need to Know

Pocket, the popular “read-it-later” app, was removed from app stores in late May. Users can still access the app for now, but it will officially shut down on July 8.

• Pocket Premium cost $4.99 per month or $44.99 per year.

• Mozilla, which owns Pocket, says refunds will be given to users with active annual subscriptions.

• You don’t need to request a refund. It will be automatically sent to your payment method after July 8.

• Users will have until October 8, 2025, to download their saved articles and data.

After that date, all data will be permanently deleted.

Glitch App Also Shutting Down

Glitch, a web development platform, is also closing on the same day – July 8.

• Glitch Pro subscribers who paid $96 annually will be refunded for any unused time.

• Like Pocket, refunds will be automatic.

• Glitch users have until December 31, 2025, to download their projects.

• After that, all files and data will be deleted permanently.
