Govt announces public holiday on August 15
A public holiday has been declared in Vehari on July 11th on the occasion of the annual Urs of the revered Sufi Baba Haji Sher Deewan.
The Deputy Commissioner of Vehari, Umarna Taqeer, has issued a formal notification regarding this.
According to the announcement, the holiday will apply only to government offices, educational institutions, and other government-related affairs. However, board and university-level exams will be held as per the scheduled timetable.
Emergency services, medical facilities, municipal services, and security-related departments will be exempted from the holiday to ensure that the public does not face any inconvenience. As visitors from various areas are expected to attend the Urs, arrangements for security and facilities are also underway.
