Punjab Police Officials to Get Additional Salary

09 July, 2025 14:15

The Punjab Home Department has announced good news for regular employees of the Counter Terrorism Department (CCD), as a special allowance has been approved. The decision comes after formal approval from the provincial cabinet.

Who Will Receive the Allowance?

According to the official notification, “all eligible officers and staff will receive an additional salary based on their basic pay scale from the year 2011.”

This allowance applies only to regular CCD officials actively performing their duties.

Who Is Not Eligible?

The notification outlines some exceptions. “Those currently on deputation to the CCD, officers and officials under suspension, as well as those on extended leave or long-term absence during duty, will not qualify for the benefit.”

In addition, “officers and officials who have been declared as Officers on Special Duty (OSDs) are also excluded from receiving this allowance.”

This ensures clarity and fairness in benefit distribution.

Federal Government Also Approves 10% Salary Increase

In related news, the federal government has also issued a 10% increase in the current basic salaries of government employees under the Ad-hoc Relief Allowance 2025.

“The salary increase will be effective from July 1, 2025.”
“The President has approved a 10% Ad-hoc Relief Allowance 2025 for civil employees of the federal government, armed forces, civil armed forces, and civilian personnel receiving salaries from defense expenditure.”

This raise also benefits contract employees working under standard Basic Pay Scale terms.

Conditions and Tax Information

The notification also mentions that “the amount of Ad-hoc Relief Allowance 2025 will be taxable under the Income Tax Act.”

This allowance will apply during general leave or LPR, but not during extraordinary leave, foreign postings, or deputations.

“This allowance will not be included in the calculation of pension or gratuity, nor will it be considered for house rent deduction.”

Salary to Be Paid from Existing Budgets

Lastly, “this Ad-hoc Relief Allowance for the year 2025–26 will be provided from the budget of the respective ministries, divisions, and departments, and no additional or supplementary grant will be issued for this purpose.”

The move reflects the government’s commitment to easing financial pressure on public sector employees while ensuring fiscal responsibility.
