India Violates Myanmar’s Sovereignty with Illegal Drone Strike

India Myanmar Illegal Drone Strike
In a major escalation, Indian military forces reportedly carried out drone strikes inside Myanmar, violating international law and the sovereignty of a neighboring state. According to Indian media reports, over 150 Israeli-made drones targeted alleged ULFA (I) camps early Saturday morning in the Sagaing Region.
The airstrikes are said to have focused on a location believed to house ULFA (I)’s Eastern Command headquarters. Indian outlets also reported that several militants, including key commander Nain Asom, were killed in the attack.
Despite wide media coverage, India’s Ministry of Defence has officially denied any knowledge of the operation, raising questions about transparency and internal coordination.
Sources claim the drone strike was carried out under the supervision of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, making it a covert operation that bypassed standard military channels.
Experts and regional analysts say this attack on Myanmar’s territory is a clear violation of the United Nations Charter and international norms. It is also being viewed as an act of aggression that could further destabilize the region.
The strikes come amid growing criticism of India’s controversial internal military operation, “Operation Sindoor.” Some believe the Myanmar action is an attempt by the Modi government to divert attention from domestic security failures and use military force for political messaging.
Observers have warned that India is increasingly adopting an expansionist approach in South Asia. The country already has tense relations with neighbors like Pakistan, China, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka.
“This strike highlights India’s intention to assert regional dominance at the cost of peace and stability,” said one security analyst.
Sources also argue that India’s Hindutva-driven policies and militaristic rhetoric are fueling regional instability, and that the global community must take urgent notice.
“If India is not restrained, South Asia could be pushed toward a larger conflict,” a regional expert warned.ould you lik
