Government to Transform FC into Nationwide Federal Force

FC into Nationwide Federal Force
Islamabad – The federal government has decided to convert the Frontier Constabulary (FC) into a nationwide federal force, sources confirmed on Saturday.
To implement this major shift, the government will issue an ordinance after the federal cabinet approves amendments to the Frontier Constabulary Act of 1915, sources added.
As part of the reforms, the force will be renamed Federal Constabulary, expanding its jurisdiction across all provinces, including Islamabad, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to sources, following the ordinance, recruitment for the new force will be carried out across the country, and offices will be established nationwide.
The command of the Federal Constabulary will be handed over to officers from the Police Service of Pakistan, aligning it with other federal law enforcement structures.
Defense analysts believe this move will significantly strengthen internal security and law and order across Pakistan. It is being viewed as part of a broader national effort to centralize and enhance the internal security mechanism.
The transformation of FC into a modern federal force is expected to play a key role in addressing security challenges more efficiently at the national level.
