Election Commission Announces KP Assembly Reserved Seats Decision

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued its decision on the reserved seats in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly, approving the petition submitted by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N).

According to the ruling, a minority seat has been awarded to PML-N, while a draw (toss) will be held between PML-N and JUI-F for one additional minority seat. For a reserved seat for women, a toss will be conducted between Awami National Party (ANP) and PTI-P.

The revised seat allocation now gives PML-N and JUI-F 9 reserved seats each, PPP 5, and PTI-P and ANP 1 seat each.

The ECP finalized this decision after hearing arguments on PML-N’s petition and reserved its judgment yesterday.
