PMT score 32 rule for women to stay until June 2026 – Details inside

18 July, 2025 18:15

In Pakistan, the PMT (Poverty Means Test) score is used to decide which families need financial help the most. It measures your household’s income, expenses, and living conditions.

The lower your score, the poorer your family is considered.

  • If you are a woman from a regular household and your PMT score is 32 or below, you may qualify for government aid.

  • If your household has a disabled member, you can qualify even with a PMT score of up to 37.

The government has now announced that this rule will remain the same until June 6, 2026.

Why Is the PMT Score of 32 Important?

This score helps the government:

  • Identify families in real need (low-income households get priority)
  • Manage funds better by knowing how many people qualify
  • Keep rules simple so everyone understands who can apply

Who Can Apply?

You may qualify if:

  • Your PMT score is 32 or below (regular households)

  • Or up to 37 if there’s a disabled person in your family

To check your PMT score:

  • Visit your local BISP or social support office

  • Use the Ehsaas mobile app

  • Or send your CNIC (ID number) to check eligibility

What’s New?

This isn’t a new rule, but the key update is:

  • The same PMT score limits will now continue until June 6, 2026

  • No changes will be made to these limits before that date

  • It applies to all women applying for aid

Why Did the Government Extend This Rule?

The decision was made because:

  • The economy is still recovering
  • Families are struggling with inflation and rising costs
  • More time is needed to review and collect data

This extension helps provide stability for families relying on support.

What Will Happen After June 2026?

No decision has been made yet, but possibilities include:

  • Raising the score limit to include more families

  • Lowering the limit to reduce the number of eligible people

  • Keeping it the same if the situation doesn’t change

The government is expected to review the program before the deadline.
