Pakistan, Afghan Interior Ministers Meet in Kabul to Strengthen Cooperation

Kabul: Federal Interior Minister of Pakistan, Mohsin Naqvi, met with his Afghan counterpart, Sirajuddin Haqqani, in Afghanistan’s capital.

The two leaders discussed bilateral relations, counter-terrorism efforts, border management, and the issue of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

Both ministers agreed to enhance cooperation to effectively manage the Pakistan-Afghanistan border and eliminate terrorism.

Discussions also covered controlling cross-border movement, preventing drug trafficking, and facilitating the return of Afghan nationals living illegally in Pakistan to their homeland.

Minister Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that terrorist groups are causing instability and chaos, and stressed the need for joint efforts to stop them. He also expressed Pakistan’s desire for brotherly and lasting relations with Afghanistan.

Mohsin Naqvi is on a one-day official visit to Afghanistan. Upon his arrival at Kabul International Airport, he was welcomed by Afghanistan’s Deputy Interior Minister Mohammad Nabi Omari and senior officials from the Afghan Ministry of Interior.
