Rain Expected Across Pakistan Today

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted continued rainfall in most parts of the country today, raising concerns about possible damage to life and property due to ongoing flooding.

Rain Likely in Punjab and Capital Region

According to the Meteorological Department, “The rain spell will continue today in most cities of the country, including Islamabad.” Cities such as Rawalpindi, Murree, Galiyat, Chakwal, Attock, and Sargodha are expected to experience further rain. Additional showers are forecast in Khushab, Mianwali, Jhelum, Gujranwala, and Gujrat. Rain is also expected in Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Sheikhupura, and Kasur.

More Showers in Central Punjab

Areas including Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, and Multan will likely continue to receive rain. The spell is also expected to persist in Khanewal, Faisalabad, Layyah, Bhakkar, and Dera Ghazi Khan.

Rain in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Northern Areas

In the north, “Rain is expected at a few places in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Battagram, and Mansehra.” Additional rainfall is forecast in Peshawar, Abbottabad, Buner, Shangla, Swat, Malakand, Nowshera, Swabi, Bajaur, Mardan, Kurram, and Hangu. Kohat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, and Waziristan may also receive showers.

Thunderstorms Expected in Sindh

In Sindh, Karachi, Thatta, and Hyderabad are likely to see rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms.

Mixed Weather for Balochistan

Meanwhile, Balochistan will mostly experience hot and humid weather. However, rain is likely in some areas including Barkhan, Kohlu, Musakhel, Loralai, Zhob, and Kalat. A few showers may also occur in Khuzdar, Awaran, and Lasbela.

Authorities have urged citizens to remain alert and take safety precautions, especially in flood-prone areas.
