BISP to launch new payment system from August 2025

BISP announces new rules for smooth payment from September 25
The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) is launching a new payment system for its beneficiaries from August 2025. Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid shared this update while speaking to the media in Islamabad.
Under this new system, women will get their financial support directly in personal bank accounts, making the process more transparent, quick, and respectful. The pilot phase will start on August 14, 2025, in major cities like Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, and Peshawar. The program also aims to make digital wallet payments possible in the future.
Rubina Khalid said this change will give women more control over their money and help them manage their finances independently.
She also mentioned the Benazir Hunarmand Program, launched on June 21, 2025, by President Asif Ali Zardari. This program will provide technical and vocational training to BISP families, helping them learn skills needed for good jobs. The goal is to make them self-reliant and ready for job opportunities both in Pakistan and abroad.
She thanked all the organizations helping in this program, including NAVTTC, provincial TEVTAs, the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, and the Friends of BISP platform.
Rubina Khalid said BISP is now recognized around the world as a successful welfare program. Last year, officials from other countries came to Pakistan to learn about BISP and its achievements.
She added that the program only requires a CNIC to enroll, and it recognizes housewives as the head of the household, which has helped empower millions of women across the country.
She also talked about the Benazir Nashonuma Program, which helps pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and children under 2 with health and nutrition. Because of this program, malnutrition-related stunting has dropped by 6.5% in Pakistan.
Lastly, she mentioned the Benazir Taleemi Wazaif, which gives education stipends to children from primary to higher secondary level.
The stipends are given if the child is enrolled in school and has at least 70% attendance. She proudly said that some students in Multan, who received this support, recently got top positions in their matric exams.
