Islamabad Express Train derails near Kala Shah Kaku, over 25 injured
An unfortunate train accident occurred near Kala Shah Kaku when the Islamabad Express, traveling from Lahore to Rawalpindi, derailed near the Nala Dek area. Several coaches of the train came off the track, causing injuries to more than 25 passengers.
Rescue operations are currently underway, but officials say darkness in the area is making relief efforts difficult. Emergency teams are trying to safely evacuate injured passengers and provide medical aid.
Federal Minister for Railways, Hanif Abbasi, has taken notice of the incident. He has directed the CEO of Pakistan Railways and the Divisional Superintendent (DS Railways) to immediately reach the accident site.
Minister Abbasi has also ordered railway staff to speed up the rescue and relief operations to help the affected passengers as quickly as possible.
Authorities are expected to launch an inquiry into the cause of the derailment after the rescue mission is completed.
