Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian Receives Warm Welcome at PM’s House, Guard of Honor Presented

Islamabad: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian arrived at the Prime Minister’s House to meet with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who warmly received him and presented a guard of honor.

President Pezeshkian is currently on a two-day official visit to Pakistan. Upon arrival yesterday, he paid homage at Allama Iqbal’s mausoleum and held a meeting with PML-N President Shehbaz Sharif.

Today marks a busy schedule for the Iranian president, with planned meetings including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, President Arif Alvi, Senate Chairman Yousaf Raza Gilani, and National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.

During the reception at the Prime Minister’s House, the national anthems of both countries were played, and a disciplined guard of honor was presented. Additionally, President Pezeshkian planted a tree at the venue as a symbolic gesture.

Discussions between the Prime Minister and the Iranian president are expected to focus on enhancing bilateral cooperation. Agreements and memorandums of understanding are also slated for signing.

A luncheon in honor of President Pezeshkian has been organized. Later this evening, he will meet President Arif Alvi, who is set to host a dinner in his honor.

Diplomatic sources stated that the meetings will emphasize further strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations, with particular attention on collaboration in the fields of energy and trade.
