Parliament Members ECP Disqualifies
Islamabad: The Election Commission has announced the disqualification of Shibli Faraz and Omar Ayub.
According to the Election Commission, the opposition leaders and members of parliament disqualified under Article 63(1)(h). A total of nine MNAs and Senators have been disqualified by the Election Commission.
In the National Assembly, members Rai Haider Ali Khan, Sahibzada Hamid Raza, Zartaj Gul, and Rai Hassan Nawaz have also been declared ineligible to hold office.
From the Punjab Assembly, Muhammad Ansar Iqbal has been declared disqualified. Additionally, Provincial Assembly members Rai Muhammad Murtaza Iqbal and Junaid Akbar Sahi have also been disqualified.
Following the ruling, the seats held by opposition leaders in the Senate and National Assembly have been vacated. This includes five seats in the National Assembly and one seat in the Senate. Additionally, three seats in the Punjab Assembly have also been declared vacant.
The Election Commission has declared the seats vacant following the order of the Faisalabad Anti-Terrorism Court.
