NBA star Al Horford, best known for his time with the Boston Celtics, has been happily married to Amelia Vega for over a decade. The couple first met in 2007 at the Latin Pride Awards. Their friendship soon blossomed into romance.

Horford recalled their early days in a conversation with Latina, saying, “We started dating, and it became pretty obvious that she was the right person for me. It just felt right. I felt right with her, and I knew that I wanted to marry her.” The two tied the knot on December 24, 2011.

Amelia Vega is a multitalented figure — an actress, model, singer, and author. She made history in 2003 by becoming the first-ever Miss Universe from the Dominican Republic and the youngest titleholder since 1994.
