Governor KP Meets Commerce Minister to Boost Trade, Exports

Islamabad – Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Faisal Karim Kundi met with Federal Commerce Minister Jam Kamal to discuss the promotion of trade, investment, and exports in the province.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Commerce, the two leaders exchanged views on enhancing export potential and emphasized the role of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and Pakistan Handicrafts Development Company (PHDDEC) in this regard.

The meeting also reviewed the performance of the gems and jewelry and tobacco sectors. On the Commerce Minister’s instructions, TDAP officials will soon provide a briefing at the Peshawar Expo Center.

The Ministry reported that Pakistan’s exports reached $2.7 billion in July 2025 — a 17% increase compared to July 2024, and a 9% rise from the previous month.

Both the Commerce Minister and the Governor expressed satisfaction with the growing export figures. Jam Kamal reaffirmed his commitment to working with all provinces to further boost national exports.
