Siblings Killed in Dumper-Motorcycle Crash on Rashid Minhas Road, Angry Mob Torches 7 Dumpers

KARACHI: A tragic road accident on Rashid Minhas Road in Karachi’s Federal B Area claimed the lives of a brother and sister after a dumper truck collided with their motorcycle.

According to rescue sources, the motorcycle was carrying a father, his daughter Mahnoor (22), and son Ali Raza (14), all of whom sustained injuries in the collision. While being transported to the hospital, Mahnoor and Ahmed Raza succumbed to their injuries. Their father remains under treatment.

The fatal incident sparked public outrage. Enraged citizens set seven dumper trucks on fire and physically assaulted the dumper driver involved in the crash before handing him over to the police. In response, law enforcement closed Rashid Minhas Road to traffic and arrested 10 individuals on charges of arson.

Following the torching of the dumper trucks, the Dumper Drivers Association staged a protest. The association blocked the road from Sohrab Goth to the Super Highway, causing severe traffic disruption. They also announced plans to block the National Highway.

Haji Liaquat Mehsud, President of the Dumper Drivers Association, claimed the accident was caused by a tanker, not a dumper. He held the Sindh government responsible for the destruction of the seven dumper trucks.

Sindh Governor Condemns Incident

Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori expressed deep sorrow over the deaths of Mahnoor and Ali Raza. He urged the Sindh government to ensure strict punishment for the driver responsible for the accident and advised citizens to refrain from taking the law into their own hands.
