Field Marshal Asim Munir Meets Senior U.S. Political, Military Leadership on official US Trip
Rawalpindi: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir visited the United States on an official trip, where he held meetings with senior U.S. political and military leadership as well as the Pakistani diaspora.
According to the Pakistan Army’s Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), in Tampa, the Army Chief attended the retirement ceremony of outgoing U.S. Central Command Commander General Michael E. Kurilla and the ceremony where the new commander, Admiral Brad Cooper, took charge.
On this occasion, the Field Marshal praised General Kurilla’s outstanding leadership and his contributions to strengthening Pakistan-U.S. military relations. He also extended best wishes to Admiral Cooper and expressed confidence in continued cooperation to address joint security challenges.
Army Chief General Asim Munir also met with Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mark Milley, during which they discussed matters of mutual professional interest. He invited General Milley to visit Pakistan. Informal meetings were also held with defense chiefs of friendly countries.
According to ISPR, the Field Marshal participated in an interactive session with the Pakistani-American community, where he encouraged them to have confidence in Pakistan’s bright future and to play an active role in promoting investment. The diaspora reiterated their strong commitment to supporting Pakistan’s development and prosperity.
