Govt Forms Committee to Resolve Zaireen Travel Issues: Talal Chaudhry
Islamabad — Minister of State Talal Chaudhry has said that the government is taking serious steps to resolve issues faced by Pakistani zaireen (pilgrims) traveling to Iraq and Iran.
Speaking to the media, Talal Chaudhry said, “I personally visited Karachi with those who wanted to travel for ziyarat. We had detailed discussions and agreed on seven key points.”
He further added that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formed a committee based on those seven points to ensure smooth and safe travel for the pilgrims. The committee held its first meeting today in Islamabad.
According to Talal Chaudhry, the committee includes six Shia scholars and officials from six different ministries, showing that the issue is being handled with seriousness and cooperation at the national level.
He also praised the Punjab government for handling Muharram with “great care and responsibility,” and expressed hope that this new committee, working closely with provincial governments, will quickly resolve all related concerns.
“This matter will be solved soon in coordination with all provinces,” Talal Chaudhry assured.
