The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has made it easier for low-income families in Pakistan to apply for financial aid through its BISP 8171 Online Registration system. This internet-based process allows applicants to register from home using their CNIC.

According to the official procedure, individuals can apply by visiting the BISP 8171 Web Portal and selecting the “BISP 8171 Online Registration” option. Applicants must enter their valid 13-digit CNIC, provide household details such as address, family members, and income, and then submit the form. Once completed, a confirmation SMS from 8171 will notify them about their application status.

To check the registration status, applicants can either send their CNIC via SMS to 8171 or revisit the portal and enter their details. Possible replies include Eligible / Approved, Under Review, or Not Registered / Ineligible.
