KARACHI: At least four people were injured when an old building collapsed in the Mominabad area of Orangi Town on Wednesday, according to rescue officials.

The incident happened near Badr Chowk, and the injured were quickly taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

According to SSP West Tariq Mastoi, the collapsed building was not being used as a residence. Instead, it was the office of a political party. He said that seven people were rescued from the debris, and four were confirmed injured.

All the injured were identified as workers of the Awami National Party (ANP) who were present inside the office when the structure gave way.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the collapse and have urged caution around old and unsafe buildings, especially during the ongoing monsoon season.
