Sindh Chief Minister Chairs Meeting on Social Protection Authority
Karachi – Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah chaired a meeting of the Social Protection Authority in Karachi, attended by Health Minister Dr. Azra Pechuho, Education Minister Sardar Shah, and other senior officials.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister said that a new Social Protection Delivery System has been launched with the support of the World Bank. The total cost of the program is Rs 48.3 billion, with the Sindh government contributing Rs 6.3 billion.
The Social Protection Delivery System is expected to be completed by 2027, according to Murad Ali Shah.
The Chief Minister also shared updates on the “Mumtaz Program”, a major initiative currently active in 15 districts of Sindh. Under the program, 750,000 women are receiving financial support. Each registered woman receives Rs 30,000 in cash assistance over three years.
So far, Rs 5.2 billion have been distributed under the Mumtaz Program. The Sindh government has now approved the expansion of the program to an additional 7 districts.
