5 Sep 1965: Remembering Historic Win of Pakistan in the Fifth Day of the 1965 War

On 5 September 1965, the fifth day of the war, Pakistan’s armed forces secured a historic victory and marked a decisive moment in the conflict.

The war continued, and the Pakistani army kept securing multiple victories while India faced setbacks.

President Ayub Khan, congratulating the army on their unparalleled achievements and successes in Jaurian, instructed them to annihilate the enemy.

After a night of fierce battle, the Pakistani army succeeded in capturing Jaurian, India’s second-strongest front.

Due to this timeless victory, the Indian army was pushed back 18 miles from Jaurian and 3 miles from Akhnoor.

Pakistani soldiers launched attacks on Indian forces at several locations in occupied Kashmir, killing more than 50 soldiers and injuring many others.
