Karachi Software House Owners Detain Girl, Open Fire on Family During Rescue Attempt
KARACHI: An incident unfolded in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area last night when the owners of a software house allegedly detained a young woman and fired at her parents as they attempted to rescue her.
According to details, police arrived promptly at the scene, recovered the girl safely, and arrested the software house owner, manager, and three other accomplices involved in the incident.
Details reveal that the girl was reportedly kept confined inside the software house. When her family arrived to take her home, the owner allegedly opened fire on them. Police intervened after receiving a distress call and successfully rescued the girl while taking the suspects into custody.
The chain of events began around 9 pm when the girl secretly contacted her family via mobile phone, pleading for help. Her relatives rushed to the software house, but the owners locked the door from inside and refused to release her. When the family attempted to force entry, the owners allegedly fired at them.
Following the rescue, the girl’s father, Shoaib Hussain, filed a formal complaint at the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Police Station. In the FIR, he claimed that the software house owners had been harassing his daughter and had unlawfully confined her.
The FIR stated that the girl worked at the software house while her father was employed in a private job. It further alleged that the manager, Daniyal, had been making inappropriate advances toward her for an extended period, which she had discussed with her cousin and brother. When her brother confronted Daniyal over the phone, he reportedly issued threats. On September 23, Daniyal allegedly threatened the girl again when she arrived at the office.
That same night, when the family came to rescue her, the premises were locked, and the owners opened fire as her relatives tried to enter.
Police confirmed the girl’s safe recovery and said the suspects—including the owners—were arrested at the scene. A case has been registered at the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Police Station against Daniyal, Salman, Imran, and Zulqarnain for unlawful confinement and firing at the family.
