Good News for Solar Users: LESCO to Pay for Extra Units
LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has announced that consumers will now receive payments for electricity exported to the national grid through their solar systems.
According to sources, payments will be calculated based on the number of exported units, in line with the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) policy. The process will include verification and cross-checking before final disbursement.
Consumers will be required to visit their respective LESCO offices to claim the additional amount, which will be processed separately from their regular electricity bills. Divisional and revenue officers will be tasked with inspecting net metering connections.
Following inspection, revenue offices will prepare cases using a test check proforma. Once completed, these cases will be forwarded to the finance department. After approval, consumers will receive cross checks equivalent to the value of their exported units.
