Jordan’s King says Trump Gaza plan details ‘in line’ with what has been agreed
Jordan’s King Abdullah stated on Sunday that many aspects of US President Donald Trump’s plan to end the Gaza conflict are “in line with what has been agreed upon,” according to the Jordanian state news agency. However, the King did not provide further information regarding the specifics or contents of the plan.
Meanwhile, Trump expressed optimism about the prospects for peace in the Middle East, tweeting, “We have a real chance for Greatness in the Middle East. All are on board for something special, first time ever. We will get it done.” This statement came just days after he suggested that a deal to resolve the Gaza war was close to being finalized.
Trump is scheduled to meet Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Monday to discuss a potential framework for a peace agreement, according to administration sources.
In previous remarks, Trump highlighted that talks involving Middle Eastern countries have been “intense” and that both Israel and Hamas militants are aware of the ongoing discussions, which will continue as long as necessary.
Despite this apparent shift in tone, Trump remains opposed to the recognition of a Palestinian state by multiple countries. He had previously supported the controversial notion of relocating Palestinians from Gaza and placing the territory under U.S. control.
