Is Nikahnama Required To Enter Naran? Authorities Issue Clarification
MANSEHRA: Authorities have dismissed recent social media claims suggesting that couples without a marriage certificate are being denied entry to the tourist destination of Naran.
A senior police officer described the reports as baseless, clarifying that there is no restriction on entry for those not carrying their Nikahnama.
The officer confirmed that the viral image showing a supposed notice about a marriage certificate requirement originated from another country and has no connection to any policy in Pakistan.
The District Police Officer (DPO) said investigations are underway to identify the source of the fake image and the spread of misinformation. He stressed that the police welcome both domestic and international tourists and that foolproof arrangements have been made to ensure their safety and convenience.
Situated in Mansehra District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Naran is regarded as one of Pakistan’s most scenic valleys. It is known for its snow-covered peaks, crystal-clear lakes, lush greenery, and breathtaking landscapes. The valley attracts thousands of tourists each summer as a refreshing escape from the heat, while heavy snowfall in winter often renders its roads inaccessible.
Authorities have urged the public to verify information before sharing and to report any misleading content.
