Maryam Nawaz Announces Major Development Projects for Murree

01 October, 2025 15:44

Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, has announced several major development projects for the tourist city of Murree. Speaking at a public event, she said that Murree is now moving forward with its own administrative departments and will soon become one of the world’s top tourist destinations.

Maryam Nawaz shared that the Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Center in Murree, built in a short time, has officially started operations. So far, five angiographies have already been performed, and cardiac surgeries will begin in a few days.

She explained that Murree had previously been treated as part of Rawalpindi, even after it was declared a district. Now, Murree has its own police, health, and education departments. She added that she delivered on promises with action — even building roads before making formal announcements.

Maryam announced that Murree schools are being upgraded and a major water supply project is underway. A sanitation scheme is also being introduced, and a dedicated tourism force has been established to enhance the visitor experience.

The Chief Minister highlighted other projects, including a new expressway used by thousands daily, the “Suthra Punjab” cleanliness campaign in streets and neighborhoods, and plans for a modern hospital in Bhurban. She also directed the local administration to run three buses to serve Samli Hospital.

In transport development, she announced 15 new buses for Murree. Green Line buses will be free for students, the elderly, and women. A train service will also be launched to reduce tourist traffic in personal vehicles.

Maryam Nawaz criticized past leaders for making empty promises, saying that announcing projects is easy, but completing them is difficult. She said her government did not just sit in offices during the floods — they delivered without making big promises.

She concluded that real work speaks louder than silent claims and that her government’s actions prove their commitment to public service.
