Hamas wants to amend disarmament clause in Trump 20-Point Gaza Plan
Hamas has asked for changes to US President Donald Trump’s 20‑point peace plan for Gaza, calling for an amendment to the clause that requires the group to disarm. Palestinian sources close to Hamas told international media that negotiators want the disarmament condition revised.
Hamas negotiators met in Doha with Turkish, Egyptian and Qatari officials to discuss the proposal and possible amendments. The group is said to want an assurance of a full Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and international guarantees that its leaders will not be killed either inside or outside Palestine.
Sources say Hamas will need two to three days to give an official answer. The move follows Trump’s announcement of the 20‑point plan and his warning that Hamas would face serious consequences if it did not accept the deal.
