JI Chief Presses PM on Mushtaq Ahmed’s Release, Rejects Gaza Plan
ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman held a telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, stressing the urgent need to intensify efforts for the recovery and release of senior JI leader Mushtaq Ahmed Khan.
During the call, the prime minister informed Hafiz Naeem that Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has been assigned responsibility to lead the government’s efforts in this regard.
Hafiz Naeem emphasized that this was not merely a party matter but an issue of national significance for Pakistan. He also strongly condemned Israel’s attack on the Global Samoud Flotilla and the arrest of its participants.
Expressing the nation’s concerns, Hafiz Naeem rejected US President Donald Trump’s 20-point Gaza plan, warning that it strengthens Israel instead of helping Palestinians. He said Pakistan must remain firm on its long-standing demand for the establishment of a free and independent Palestinian state.
He cautioned that Pakistan should not support any plan that empowers Israel, stressing that the country should stand by the Palestinian cause.
On Kashmir, Hafiz Naeem urged the prime minister to act responsibly and seek solutions through dialogue. He also noted that the views of a few individuals should not be mistaken as the collective stance of all Kashmiris.
