Hamas presents key conditions in Gaza peace talks with Israel

Negotiations between Israel and Hamas are continuing in Sharm el-Sheikh, where the Palestinian resistance group has presented key demands aimed at easing the crisis in Gaza, according to Arab media reports.

The Hamas delegation, led by senior negotiator Khalil al-Hayya, made its first public appearance since the Israeli attack on Doha. The group’s conditions include the release of six senior Palestinian prisoners and the large-scale delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Reports say Hamas also submitted its official response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s 20-point Gaza peace plan. In it, Hamas proposed that Gaza’s administration be handed over to a non-partisan technocratic government.

The group further expressed willingness to exchange all Israeli captives for Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails.

According to media sources, President Trump welcomed Hamas’s response and asked Israel to stop airstrikes immediately. However, within just 72 hours of the reply, over 130 Palestinians were killed in renewed Israeli bombings.

Political analysts believe that while Trump’s peace plan may provide short-term relief, true peace cannot be achieved through one-sided actions. They argue that lasting stability requires holding Israel accountable and ending policies of racial discrimination and violence against Palestinians.
