Ali Amin Gandapur Out, Sohail Afridi to Become KP CM

In a significant political development, sources have confirmed the decision to immediately remove Ali Amin Gandapur from his position as the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The decision comes amid growing internal party differences and governance challenges. Sohail Afridi has been chosen as the new Chief Minister to steer the province forward.

Ali Amin Gandapur’s leadership faced numerous challenges, including persistent issues with electricity load shedding, administrative hurdles, and strained relations with the federal government. His criticism of the federal government during Eid-ul-Adha over power shortages further escalated tensions between the provincial and federal administrations. These issues raised serious questions about his ability to effectively govern the province.

Several senior party leaders within PTI, including Atif Khan, Shakeel Khan, Junaid Akbar, and Mishal Yousafzai, reportedly raised concerns about Gandapur’s leadership. These internal disputes prompted party chairman Imran Khan to reconsider the leadership dynamics in KP. The pressure within the party played a key role in the decision to replace him.

Sohail Afridi has been selected as the new Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Sources say he has already begun meetings with key officials, including Minister for Higher Education Meena Khan Afridi, focusing on improving the financial management of public universities and promoting academic excellence in the province’s higher education sector.

On the other hand, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan claimed that no decision has been made regarding Ali Amin Gandapur; all these rumors are a conspiracy to divide the party.
