Renowned qawwal Ustad Rasheed Ahmad Khan, a respected disciple of the legendary Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and a close associate of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, has passed away due to cardiac arrest in Faisalabad. The sad news was confirmed on Thursday.
Ustad Rasheed Ahmad Khan was widely admired in the world of qawwali for his soulful voice and deep connection to classical Sufi music. He carried forward the musical legacy of the Fateh Ali Khan family, earning respect from fellow musicians and fans alike.
He was also the elder brother of Ustad Rafiq, another known figure in traditional qawwali circles.
The funeral prayers will be held today at Rasoolnagar at 2:00 PM. Family, friends, and followers of Sufi music are expected to gather to pay their respects to the departed artist.
Music lovers across Pakistan are mourning the loss of a true custodian of qawwali tradition, remembering him for his devotion to the art and his powerful performances alongside leading qawwals.
