Several Lahore–Karachi Trains Cancelled or Rescheduled After Flood Damage
Pakistan Railways has announced significant disruptions in train services between Lahore, Karachi, and other major cities following flood damage to several portions of the railway track.
According to officials, the Shah Hussain Express from Lahore to Karachi has been cancelled for the day. Passengers booked on this service will be accommodated in the Green Line Express, which will depart from Lahore for Karachi at its regular time of 8:50 pm.
The Pak Business Express, scheduled to leave Lahore for Karachi at 4:30 pm, will now depart at 7:15 pm, marking a delay of two hours and forty-five minutes. Similarly, the Karachi Express will depart at 6:45 pm instead of 6:00 pm.
In addition, several trains have been rerouted through the Lahore–Sahiwal section due to the affected track. These include the Karakoram Express, Pakistan Express, Rehman Baba Express, and Millat Express.
The Millat Express will now depart from Faisalabad at 2:00 pm, travelling via Chak Jhumra, Sangla Hill, Lahore, and Sahiwal before reaching Karachi. Trains arriving from Karachi — including the Pakistan Express, Millat Express, and Rehman Baba Express — will also use alternate routes through Sahiwal and Lahore toward Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Peshawar, respectively.
Pakistan Railways has urged passengers to check the latest schedules before travelling and apologized for the inconvenience, citing weather-related damage as the cause of the disruptions.
