Middle-Class Tribal Representative Becomes KP Chief Minister: Sohail Afridi

Peshawar: Newly elected Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi addressed the KP Assembly after his victory, expressing gratitude to the members who voted for him.

Afridi emphasized that he does not come from a political dynasty like Zardari, Sharif, or Bhutto. Instead, he said he reached this position through hard work, not by chance or political deals.

Afridi described himself as a representative of the middle class, with no political background in his family. He proudly stated that he is from the tribal districts and considers himself a Pakistani first.

Afridi said he takes pride in his tribal identity but has faced mockery simply because of the name “Afridi” attached to him. He also criticized the mindset that governs tribal areas unfairly and called for inclusive governance beyond stereotypes or discrimination.
