Who is Ishit Bhatt? KBC Contestant Called 'Most Hated Kid' Sparks Online Debate
A recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati 17, aired earlier this week, drew massive attention after a young contestant named Ishit Bhatt from Gandhinagar, Gujarat behaved in a manner many viewers found rude and overconfident. The incident quickly became viral on social media, causing a heated debate about parenting, discipline, and children’s behaviour on national television.
Who is Ishit Bhatt?
Ishit, a fifth-grade student, walked onto the hot seat with extreme confidence. However, his tone shocked many when he interrupted host Amitabh Bachchan and said, “Mere ko rules pata hai, isliye aap mereko rules samjhane mat baithna” (I know the rules, so don’t start explaining them to me). Throughout the episode, he continued to speak in a commanding manner, often pressing the answer buttons before options were shown and demanding, “Arre option daalo.”
During one of the questions related to Ramayana, Ishit asked for options but eventually chose the wrong answer. He exited the show without winning any prize. Despite his attitude, Amitabh Bachchan remained calm and handled the situation with humour, later remarking, “Kabhi kabhi bachhe overconfidence mein galti kar dete hai” (Sometimes children make mistakes due to overconfidence).
The episode sparked strong reactions online. Many viewers criticized the child’s behaviour, calling him the “most hated kid on the internet.” Some users questioned his upbringing and respect for elders. One comment read, “Knowledge without manners is dangerous. This is not confidence, this is arrogance.” Others felt that such attitude on national TV sets a poor example for young viewers.
However, a section of social media defended Ishit. Singer Chinmayi Sripaada condemned the online hatred, saying adults should not cyberbully a child. She highlighted that the focus should be on guiding children, not humiliating them.
This incident has opened a wider conversation about modern parenting, the pressure of fame on children, and the difference between confidence and arrogance. While some say Ishit needs guidance, others believe society must show maturity when dealing with young minds.
