Pakistan Army Responds Strongly to Afghan Taliban Attack in Kurram Sector
Kurram: Security sources have confirmed that Afghan Taliban and militants from the group known as Fitna al-Khawarij carried out unprovoked firing in the Kurram sector.
Security sources have confirmed that Afghan Taliban and Khawarij militants launched an unprovoked cross-border attack in the Kurram sector. In response, the Pakistan Army launched a powerful and targeted counter-operation, inflicting heavy losses on the attackers.
According to official reports, several Taliban posts caught fire, and at least one tank was destroyed in the initial response. The militants were forced to abandon their posts and flee, leaving behind multiple bodies.
In ongoing operations, the Pakistan Army has destroyed another Taliban post and tank, continuing to apply pressure on militant strongholds. Security sources report that heavy firepower is being used to neutralize enemy positions effectively.
At Turkmanzai Top, Pakistani forces destroyed the sixth Taliban tank along with its crew. Video evidence shows flames rising from the wreckage, confirming the success of the operation.
In a significant move, Pakistani forces also targeted the training camp of foreign militant commander Naeem, located opposite the Polsin Post. The camp, linked to the Fitna al-Khawarij group, was completely destroyed, security officials confirmed.
In a separate overnight incident, the Pakistan Army foiled a large-scale Taliban attack in the same region. During the intense clash, eight Taliban posts and six tanks were destroyed, along with the militants operating them.
Security forces also recovered U.S.-made weapons from the area, exposing the militants’ access to foreign arms.
As of now, the situation in both Kurram and Spin Boldak sectors is under control, but intelligence reports warn that Taliban and Khawarij militants may regroup in Spin Boldak.
The Pakistan Army has reaffirmed its full commitment to defending the country’s borders and warned that any future aggression will face a swift and strong response.
