The Punjab Department of School Education has drafted a revised school timetable to accommodate the upcoming winter season. The proposal, which has been submitted to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for approval, suggests adjusted school hours aimed at balancing colder weather conditions with effective learning schedules.

Under the proposed plan, schools would start at 8:30 AM and conclude at 2:30 PM, ensuring students receive adequate instructional time despite seasonal changes.

Regarding weekends, the department confirmed that Saturday holidays will remain unchanged, maintaining students’ routine rest days during the winter months.

Once approved, the new schedule is set to take effect from October 20 and will remain in place until March 2026.

Detailed School Hours Under the New Winter Timings

Single-Shift Boys’ Schools:
Classes will run from 8:45 AM to 2:45 PM Monday through Thursday, with Friday sessions ending earlier at 12:30 PM.

Single-Shift Girls’ Schools:
These schools will operate from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM Monday to Thursday, and conclude at 12:15 PM on Fridays.

Double-Shift Boys’ Schools:
The first shift will be held from 8:45 AM to 12:45 PM Monday to Thursday, ending at 12:30 PM on Fridays. The second shift will run from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM Monday to Thursday, with Friday classes ending at 2:00 PM.

Double-Shift Girls’ Schools:
Morning sessions will be scheduled from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM Monday to Thursday and end at 12:15 PM on Fridays. The afternoon shift will operate from 12:45 PM to 4:45 PM Monday through Thursday, with Friday timings from 1:45 PM to 4:45 PM.

The revised timetable seeks to ensure educational continuity while adapting to seasonal demands, awaiting final endorsement from the provincial leadership.
