Punjab Extends Section 144 Across Province for Seven Days

Lahore: The Punjab Home Department has extended the enforcement of Section 144 across the province for seven more days, effective until October 24, according to an official notification issued on Friday.

Under the extended order, all public gatherings, protests, rallies, and sit-ins have been strictly banned throughout Punjab, a spokesperson for the Home Department confirmed.

The notification also prohibits the assembly of more than four people at any public place, as well as the display of firearms and the use of loudspeakers under Section 144 restrictions.

The provincial government said the move aims to maintain law and order and prevent any public disturbance.

Authorities have directed law enforcement agencies to ensure strict compliance with the order across all districts of Punjab.
