Agreement Between Pakistan and Afghanistan a Major Success for Pakistan

This agreement is a victory for our clear and firm demand that Afghanistan end all kinds of support and facilitation for terrorism.

The agreement was made from a position of strength, after Pakistan’s armed forces had already taught the other side a tough lesson on the ground.

Not making the details public and continuing the negotiations show that Afghanistan was given a chance to save face, because in reality, there was no demand from the Afghan side — the real and legitimate demand was from Pakistan, which has been accepted and fulfilled.

The series of terrorist activities from Afghanistan on Pakistani soil will stop immediately.

On October 25, delegations from both sides will meet again in Istanbul to discuss detailed matters.
