NEPRA Orders Reduction in KE Tariff by Rs. 7.60 per Unit

21 October, 2025 13:49

Islamabad: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has ordered a reduction of Rs. 7.60 per unit in K-Electricโ€™s electricity tariff.

NEPRA announced its decision on K-Electricโ€™s multi-year tariff review request for the financial years 2024 to 2030.

According to the decision, NEPRA has lowered K-Electricโ€™s average tariff from Rs. 39.97 per unit to Rs. 32.37 per unit.

NEPRA officials said that their previous decision on the โ€œRight of Claimsโ€ remains unchanged. This new decision covers K-Electricโ€™s generation, transmission, distribution, and supply charges.

Despite the tariff reduction, a Rs. 50 billion burden on consumers related to the โ€œRight of Claimsโ€ will remain.

Meanwhile, K-Electricโ€™s spokesperson said the company is reviewing NEPRAโ€™s decision carefully. They stated that the decision covers many aspects of K-Electricโ€™s generation, transmission, distribution, and supply businesses, and the company will explore all legal options regarding this matter.
