IHC to Hear Plea Seeking Ban on Imran Khan’s X Account
Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has scheduled a hearing on a petition seeking to block the X (formerly Twitter) account of PTI founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The petition was filed by a citizen, Ghulam Murtaza, through his lawyer Barrister Zafarullah. The plea requests the court to remove and block Imran Khan’s alleged “illegal and malicious” tweets. It also asks that any alleged “inciteful or disruptive posts” made from his X account during his imprisonment be deleted and prevented from further circulation.
According to the court schedule, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir will hear the case on November 4, and the Registrar Office has already issued the cause list for the proceedings.
The court has issued a notice to Imran Khan, directing him to submit a response. Notices have also been sent to the National Cyber Crime Agency, the Superintendent of the jail, and other relevant parties, seeking their replies in the matter.
