Funeral Prayers Offered for Arshad Sharif’s Mother in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: The funeral prayers of Riffat Ara Alvi, the mother of martyred journalist Arshad Sharif, were offered at the H-11 Graveyard in Islamabad on Monday.
According to news sources several renowned journalists, judges, and public figures attended the funeral prayers. Justice Athar Minallah and Lieutenant General (R) Asif Ghafoor were among those who joined the ceremony to pay their respects.
Riffat Ara Alvi was laid to rest at the H-11 Graveyard following the funeral. She had passed away after a brief illness, a fact confirmed by Arshad Sharif’s widow.
The media industry and relatives expressed deep sorrow over her passing and prayed for the forgiveness of the departed soul and strength for the bereaved family.
