Police Inquiry Confirms SP Adeel Akbar Committed Suicide
Islamabad: Police have completed the inquiry into the death of SP Adeel Akbar. According to the report, he committed suicide. Statements were recorded from his operator, driver, and doctors.
The doctors said Adeel Akbar suffered from long-term stress, which can accumulate over time and does not require a sudden trigger. He had previously expressed suicidal thoughts and was advised to stay away from weapons and sharp objects.
The report also mentioned that Adeel Akbar faced an earlier inquiry in Balochistan, which delayed his promotions. About 1.5 months before his death, he was posted in Islamabad to secure a promotion.
On the day of the incident, he spent some time in his car, then went home. Later, he called his driver and operator, went to the Secretariat for a scheduled meeting, and after returning, he took his own life with a firearm.
