Pakistan to close airspace for two days starting October 28
The Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA) has announced that the countryโs airspace will remain closed for two days, starting October 28, due to safety measures. A Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued to all airlines and aviation companies.
According to the notice, airspace will be closed on October 28 and 29 from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. During these three hours each day, flight operations will be temporarily suspended. Airlines have been advised to exercise caution and manage their schedules accordingly.
Sources say the closure is likely related to military exercises being held by Indian forces near the border. Certain flight routes in the Karachi and Lahore regions will also face restrictions during this time.
Due to the temporary closure, airlines are expected to reschedule flights, and passengers are urged to check with their airlines for any updates or changes.
Officials said the decision aims to ensure the safety and security of air travel in the region amid ongoing military activities nearby.
