Iranian President Calls for Muslim Unity to Protect Shared Interests
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has emphasized that unity among Muslim nations is vital for protecting their collective interests, ensuring regional security, and deterring foreign aggression.
Speaking in Tehran on Monday during a meeting with Omani Minister of Interior Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal al-Busaidi, President Pezeshkian highlighted the deep-rooted and friendly relations between Iran and Oman, noting that their cooperation has always been based on mutual respect and goodwill.
He praised Oman’s constructive and peaceful role in regional affairs, especially its mediation efforts between Iran and the United States. Earlier this year, five rounds of indirect Iran–US talks were held in Oman and Italy over Tehran’s nuclear program before the negotiations were derailed by Israel’s military aggression against Iran in June.
Pezeshkian also lauded Oman’s support for the people of Gaza and its condemnation of Israeli actions, saying, “If all Muslim countries supported Gaza with such an approach, we would not have witnessed the current tragic events.”
The Iranian president expressed hope that the Omani minister’s visit would further enhance bilateral cooperation in scientific, economic, cultural, and political sectors.
During the visit, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani also met with Minister al-Busaidi. Both officials agreed on the need to expand strategic cooperation in economic, political, security, and military fields.
The Omani minister officially invited Larijani to visit Muscat, calling it an important step toward strengthening long-term collaboration between the two nations.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to regional stability and coordination, underscoring Iran and Oman’s shared role as key partners in maintaining peace and security in the Persian Gulf region.
