Mobile & Internet Services Suspended for 24 Hours — Here’s Why

31 October, 2025 11:56

Internet and mobile services were shut down in Quetta for 24 hours starting midnight on Friday, October 31. The decision was made after the Balochistan Home Department requested the federal government to suspend services due to security concerns.

According to officials, both 3G and 4G mobile internet services remained unavailable across the district. The move was taken after the provincial government advised immediate action to manage the law and order situation.

A notification from the Home Department confirmed that the suspension was necessary to deal with possible threats. It stated that the step was taken to ensure public safety and avoid any security incidents in the provincial capital.

The suspension affected mobile internet, data services, and communication signals. Residents of Quetta faced major difficulties in online communication, banking services, and ride-hailing apps.

Authorities said that this was a temporary measure and services would be restored after the security situation improves. Government sources also mentioned that maintaining peace in the region was the top priority.
