GB People Patriotic and Peaceful: Chief Minister Gulbar Khan
Gilgit: Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Haji Gulbar Khan, spoke at the 78th Independence Day ceremony in Gilgit-Baltistan, praising the region’s brave people and their contributions to Pakistan.
He thanked President Asif Ali Zardari for attending the event and welcomed all other dignitaries. He said the people of Gilgit-Baltistan joined Pakistan based on the foundation of faith and have always been patriotic and peaceful.
Haji Gulbar Khan described the day as a tribute to the sacrifices and struggle of Gilgit-Baltistan’s people. He added that the region is rich in natural resources and has great tourism potential.
He noted that Gilgit-Baltistan received official recognition in 2009 and emphasized that its people have considered Pakistan their home for 78 years.
The Chief Minister also highlighted the importance of resolving the Kashmir issue, calling it a need of the time. He paid tribute to martyrs and heroes and promised to provide a bright and better future for coming generations.
He further praised the leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir, saying that under his guidance, the people of Gilgit-Baltistan achieved victory in the historic struggle that strengthened Pakistan’s position globally.
