How Many Children Does Big U Have? Alleged Crips Leader’s Son Jabari Henley Fatally Shot on Halloween

02 November, 2025 14:42

Jabari “Baby Uiie” Henley, the 34-year-old son of entertainment executive and alleged Crips leader Eugene “Big U” Henley, was fatally shot on Halloween night, Friday, October 31, as confirmed by TMZ. The outlet reported that Jabari succumbed to his injuries following the shooting.

Big U, currently in federal custody, has long been a prominent figure in both the Los Angeles entertainment and street scenes. He has been married for decades to Stacey Henley, his longtime partner whom he met during their teenage years, according to The Los Angeles Times. Together, the couple share four children — three sons and a daughter — including Jabari, known as Baby Uiie.

The eldest of the siblings, Michael “Mike” Henley, is a recording artist. Jabari was the couple’s second child, followed by Daiyan and Cherysh. Their son Daiyan Henley, born in November 1999, plays professional football for the Los Angeles Chargers as a linebacker. The LA Times reported that Daiyan was conceived while Big U was serving a 13-year prison term after being convicted in 1991 for attempting to rob an undercover sheriff’s deputy of 33 pounds of cocaine. At that time, Baby Uiie was only two months old, and Eugene later married Stacey in prison in 1992.

In a 2023 profile, The Los Angeles Times described Big U as a “changed” man who sought to guide his younger children differently than his older ones. After his release, he re-emerged in the music industry, managing major rap figures such as Kurupt and the late Nipsey Hussle, as noted by TMZ. However, earlier this year, Big U was arrested again, facing murder allegations and multiple other criminal charges related to his alleged role as the leader of the Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips.

According to TMZ, Jabari was shot around 11 p.m. near the intersection of 69th Street and Figueroa Street in South Los Angeles. Citing an LAPD spokesperson, the report stated that the incident occurred when Jabari approached a vehicle. A suspect, allegedly positioned outside a local smoke shop, opened fire and fled the scene. A video obtained by TMZ shows LAPD officers attempting to perform life-saving measures before Jabari was pronounced dead.

TMZ also spoke with Luce Cannon, who referred to Big U as his uncle and is currently incarcerated alongside him at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Los Angeles. Cannon said he was the one to inform Big U of his son’s death, describing both men as devastated by the loss. He added that Jabari appeared to know the shooter, though authorities have not confirmed whether the crime was gang-related.
