The Rangers have arrested a key operative of the Wasiullah Lakho gang in a raid in Lyari, Karachi. The arrested individual, Mohammad Ismail, also known as Tamba, is a high-profile suspect who had been on the wanted list for years. According to the Rangers’ spokesperson, Tamba was apprehended with arms and ammunition during the operation.
Tamba’s criminal history dates back to 2005, when he joined the MQM London before becoming an operative in the Lyari gang war. The Rangers revealed that he had confessed to being involved in numerous ethnic killings within the city. His criminal activities span a range of offenses, including over 50 robberies and street crimes. Additionally, he disclosed his association with notorious gangsters such as Wasiullah Lakho, Rizwan Mota, Taju, and other hardened criminals during his interrogation.
The arrested man also has a record of engaging in violent encounters with the police, as well as involvement in kidnapping for ransom and extortion activities. Following the Karachi operation, Tamba went into hiding but was eventually captured. The Rangers have handed him over to the police for further legal action.
