Xiaomi testing new smartphone with 9,000 mAh battery and 100W charging
Xiaomi seems to be developing a new smartphone with a huge 9,000 mAh battery, according to a leak shared by a Weibo tipster named Digital Chat Station.
The phone is also said to support 100W fast charging, suggesting it will be built for users who want strong performance and long battery life.
If this information is true, the phone could become one of the largest battery smartphones ever released. The leak also claims that Xiaomi is testing another 10,000 mAh prototype, though there are no clear details about whether that version will go into production.
Some reports from Chinese media suggest that this big-battery phone could be part of the Redmi Turbo 5 series. However, earlier leaks about the Turbo 5 mentioned a 7,500 mAh battery, which makes it unclear if the 9,000 mAh model is part of a different project.
In the past, Xiaomi has often launched China-only versions of phones with larger batteries, while offering smaller versions globally. Because of this, it’s still uncertain whether this ultra-high-capacity model will be released worldwide or stay limited to the Chinese market.
